Sanctions on Russia put Canada's Bombardier sales in doubt

(MENAFN) Canadian plane manufacturer Bombardier is potentially facing a USD3.4 billion loss in sales to Russia, The Peninsula Qatar reported

The potential loss will come as Canada and its allies impose sanctions over the Russian Federation's move to annex Crimea

The sanctions have created a snag in negotiations to sell 100 Q400 Turboprop aircraft to Russia's Rostec at a value of USD3.4 billion

Bombardier signed a letter of intent for the sale and the order was to be firmed this year. Plans also included an assembly line in Russia

The deal would be a big achievement for Bombardier as its sales to Russia last year only hit USD250 million
