A two-month-old baby girl was found abandoned in al qasimiya area behind al manama supermarket in sharjah on sunday a police source told khaleej times.
This is the fourth baby to be abandoned by parents in the emirate in less than a month. the baby girl was found wrapped in a blanket placed in a cardboard box left on the street.
A passerby contacted the police at 11.30am. a police patrol and an ambulance rushed to the spot following which the girl was taken to al qasimi hospital where she is currently being cared for.
A source at the hospital said the baby is in a stable condition and is being provided with all necessary medical social and feeding care available.
The police have launched a probe and are looking for the baby’s parents.
Three other babies were found abandoned in sharjah in the past one month.
On march 5 2014 a newborn baby boy was found abandoned near a fire station in muwailih area in sharjah.
On march 4 a day-old baby boy was found abandoned on the terrace of a building in al yarmouk area.
On february 26 a two-day-old baby girl was found abandoned on a pavement in al ghuwair area.
