Sheraton furniture and fittings will be donated to Qatar Charity

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Katara Hospitality yesterday announced an initiative to donate furniture and fittings at the Sheraton Doha Resort & Convention Hotel to Qatar Charity

The donation is part of Katara Hospitality's commitment to support social development programmes.

It said Qatar Charity is the perfect recipient as it deploys major efforts to help needy individuals and families in Qatar.

The initiative comes at a time when the hotel, Doha's most iconic, is witnessing renovation.

Katara Hospitality said it will continue to support the local community and work with local humanitarian organisations such as the charity to help the underprivileged

Youssef Ahmed Al Kuwari, CEO, Qatar Charity said: "Such donations are not uncommon for Katara Hospitality as the management and staff have always been keen to support the local community

"We are grateful for this contribution to needy families as it enables us to further develop projects for community improvement.

Donated items are offered for acquisition through the charity's TAYF programme in the Industrial Area, Street 48, Gate 174, between 8am and 10pm except on Friday mornings.

Earlier this month, Katara Hospitality announced major renovation of the hotel - full remodelling of all guest rooms, public areas, recreation facilities and the conference and meetings space. The food and beverage offer will also be enhanced.

When it reopens, the hotel will reflect the synergy between the 1970s architecture of the landmarks with the style and functionality expected of a leading 21st century luxury hotel
