(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Mohammed al Harthy won the fifth and final round of the Oman Drift Championship, while Abdullah al Balushi took the overall title at the Oman Automobile Association (OAA) headquarters in Seeb recently.
Mohammed al Sawwafi finished runner-up in the final race, while UAE drifter Ahmad al Mansouri finished third.
A total of 15 contestants participated in the final round of the event.
Harthy said after the fifth-round win, "The challenge was extremely tough, especially considering that the Omani drivers are constantly improving.
''Drifting is an expensive sport, and one needs to keep practising to hone one's skills. I make it a point to practise at least nce a month at the OAA's drift arena here.''
Rawahi siblings triumph again:
The Rawahi siblings, Abdullah and Sanad, took the first place in the senior and DD2 categories, respectively, at the 11th round of the Rotax Max Challenge at the Muscat Speed Way at the OAA headquarters in Seeb recently.
In the senior category, Patrick Hannah finished runner-up, while Faisal al Zubair took third place. Oliver Gregor took second place in the DD2 category with Pierce Walsh finishing third.
