Malaysia's international reserves reach USD129.6 b


(MENAFN) Malaysia's international reserves were estimated at USD129.6 billion as of March 14, 2014, according to Qatar News Agency



The reserves' position was sufficient to finance 8.9 months of retained imports and was 3.3 times the short-term external debt



The Bank Negara Malaysia said: "The main components of the international reserves are foreign currency reserves (US$116.6 billion), International Monetary Fund reserves (US$900 million), Special Drawing Rights (US$2 billion), gold (US$1.4 billion) and other reserve assets (US$8.7 billion).
