(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel spoke Friday morning with the Malaysian Defense Minister and Acting Transport Minister Hishammuddin bin Tun Hussein about the ongoing search for Malaysia Air Flight 370, the Pentagon said Friday
The Pentagon said in a statement that the Malaysian Minister thanked Hagel "for the support being provided by the United States, particularly that of the US Navy." It added that the minister "requested that the US consider providing some undersea surveillance equipment as well."
"Hagel assured Minister Hishammuddin that he would assess the availability and utility of military undersea technology for such a task and provide him an update in the very near future," the statement affirmed.
