Israeli Soldiers Kill Three Palestinians In Jenin Refugees Camp

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Three Palestinians were killed when Israeli troops raided Jenin refugee camp in the northern part of the West Bank on Saturday. The early morning raid began with soldiers surrounding a house seeking to capture Hamza Abu al-Haija, a member of Hamas military wing Izzeddin al-Qassam, Palestinian security sources said.

Abu al-Haija, 23, the son of a senior Hamas leader currently serving nine life terms in Israeli jails, refused to surrender and the army opened fire at the house, killing him. Reports of the raid and the shooting prompted camp residents to come out of their homes and attack the Israeli forces with stones and Molotov cocktails, the sources said.

The army reportedly opened fire at the crowds, killing two people identified as Mahmoud Abu Zeina and Yazan Jabarin, both in their early 20s. Medical sources from the Red Crescent said at least 10 people were injured in the clashes, one in critical condition. Israel radio said two soldiers were injured lightly in the clash.
