Pakistan judge named to probe Larkana attack


(MENAFN-Khaleej Times) taking suo motu notice of the attacks on hindu houses and temple in larkana the supreme court on thursday appointed a larkana district and sessions judge as inquiry officer to investigate the attack on a hindu dharamshala that had partially damaged a mandir

On march 16 a mob set a hindu dharmshala in jinnah bagh area on fire. the attack was reportedly in reaction to alleged desecration of pages of the holy quran by a drug addict sangeet kumar who belonged to the hindu community.


While hearing the larkana attack case the apex court ordered that a report regarding the incident be submitted to the court in 15 days. the case was heard at the karachi registry of the supreme court.

Cop killed in attack on mobile van in pakistan


A policeman was killed and another critically injured after unidentified assailants opened fire on a police mobile van in orangi town early on thursday.


According to sources the mobile was on routine patrol in the islam chowk area of orangi town when it came under fire. two policemen were cortically injured in the ambush.


Both policemen were taken to abbasi shaheed hospital where one of them succumbed to his wounds. the deceased was identified as 35-year mahbub. the injured was identified as 45-year-old farooq. — online
