EU issues USD3.6b bond to Ireland, Portugal


(MENAFN) The European Union (EU) has issued a 10-year benchmark bond to Ireland and Portugal, Xinhua reported



The bond is at a value of nearly USD3.6 billion, of which USD1.1 billion to Ireland and USD2.5 billion to Portugal



In a statement, the EU said: "This was done by the European Commission on behalf of the EU under the European Financial Stabilization Mechanism (EFSM).



The EU through its EFSM has disbursed the entire agreed amount of USD31.3 billion and USD33.2 billion to Ireland and Portugal, respectively
