Exciting day crowns new Kuwait national team for 2014 final in Germany


(MENAFN- Arab Times) The Kuwait National Final of the prestigious Mercedes Trophy Golf tournament was held at the Sahara Golf and Country Club on Friday, March 14, 2013. The tournament brought together Kuwait's top amateur golfers to compete for the top three positions in the Kuwait national team who will go to play at the 2014 Mercedes Trophy Golf World Final in Germany. This prestigious tournament was held for the 17th year by Abdul Rahman Albisher & Zaid Alkazemi Co - the exclusive general distributor for Mercedes-Benz in Kuwait



Following an early morning registration and welcome gift pack collection, the MercedesTrophy participants enjoyed a breakfast of champions at the club to kick start their play. This year 92 players competed for the top three positions for a chance to play against 33 national teams at the 25thMercedesTrophy World Final to be held in September 2014 in Stuttgart, the birthplace of the automobile and headquarters of Mercedes-Benz. The exciting programme also offered the opportunity to take part in the special 'Drive to the Major' competition played during MercedesTrophy tournaments all over the world. The winner of the competition, Dennis Reid won a spot in the 'Monday After Event' of The Open Championship (aka The British Open); travelling to the United Kingdom to play on the same course that world's leading golfers were competing for the Claret Jug on just a day before



Another highlight of the tournament was the Hole-in-One challenge where all participants eagerly competed on Mercedes-Benz Hole No. 4 (par 3) to win a Mercedes-Benz C-Class coupé on the spot.
