(MENAFN - Arab Times) Al Mulla & Behbehani Motor Co (MBMC), the sole distributor of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep(r), Ram and Mopar(r) in Kuwait, has just delivered a large fleet of Dodge Chargers to the Ministry of Interior in Kuwait - the vehicles will be put into duty by the Police and Traffic departments. "Designed and engineered to be the safest high-performance police vehicle, the Dodge Charger Pursuit offers those who protect and serve us with the best pursuit-rated sedans in the business," said Maher Abu Shaaban, Assistant General Manager of MBMC. "Dodge Charger Pursuit highlights the segment's best combination of world-class technology, safety, acceleration, braking, handling and dynamics.

The Dodge Charger Pursuit delivers world-class levels of power, 5 star safety rating, refinement, technology and fuel efficiency, achieving best-in-class power and the fastest-ever lap time in Michigan State Police's (MSP) Vehicle Evaluation Test history (1:33.70) at Grattan Raceway in Michigan. Its legendary 5.7-litre HEMI(r) V8 engine unleashes 370hp, 390 lb.-ft. of torque, 0-to-100 kmh in under 6 seconds (making it a highly effective pursuit vehicle) and exceptional fuel efficiency with innovative four-cylinder mode Fuel Saver Technology

With superior ride and handling, the Dodge Charger Pursuit features Chrysler Group's second-generation large car rear-wheel-drive architecture with performance-tuned suspension, load-leveling NIVOMAT shocks, heavy-duty anti-lock vented-disc brakes (ABS), front- and rear-stabilizer bars, 18-inch performance tyres on steel wheels and two-mode police-specific Electronic Stability Control (ESC). Developed with the guidance of the brand's Police Advisory Board, the Dodge Charger Pursuit features a mobile-command interior with unique features, including a Vehicle Systems Interface Module for easy equipment integration, heavy-duty police-duty front seats and column-mounted shifter with Auto Stick

"In addition to its Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) "Top Safety Pick," the Dodge Charger Pursuit surrounds drivers with uncompromising safety and security equipment, including standard advanced multi-stage driver and front-passenger air bags, seat-mounted side-thorax air bags, supplemental side-curtain air bags for front and rear outboard passengers and driver's knee bag," said Maher Abu Shaaban. "It also has exceptional braking capability, with a stopping distance from 100-0 kmh of under 120 feet." Officials from the Ministry, including Major General Abdul-Fatah Al-Ali (Assistant Under Secretary Of Ministry Of Interior - Traffic Affairs ) and Colonel Yousef Al-Khada (Traffic Operations Manager), were also impressed by the car & the special equipment fitted to the Charger Pursuit, including emergency equipment electrical system wire harness, power distribution centre (PDC), slide-out trunk tray, trunk air-circulation fan and siren speaker, as well as the vehicle's capability to accomplish difficult tasks in harsh conditions, working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Major General Abdul-Fatah Al-Ali praised the performance of the Charger Pursuit and its distinctive practicality. "In particular, I want to focus on two key factors - its high speed capability and the availability of spare parts and quality service. Safety is another important consideration, and the Charger Pursuit is equipped with front and side airbags to protect both the driver and the passenger." "We're grateful for the positive feedback received from the Major General," said Bassam Shehab, MBMC's Manager of Fleet Sales and Government Tenders. "All Dodge Charger Pursuits come from a production line dedicated to producing specially equipped vehicles designed and engineered specifically for law enforcement purposes - the model received the 2011 Medal of Honor from the Organisation for Security and Safety in recognition of its high standards of security and safety"

Colonel Yousef Al-Khada, who has hands on experience with the Dodge Charger Pursuit in the USA, expressed his admiration for the Centre for Law Enforcement Training & driving precision unit on Michigan which he & the law enforcement delegation and MBMC officials visited and where they received comprehensive information on the Charger Pursuit's performance and capability. During the visit, a certified trainer demonstrated the capability of the Charger Pursuit by staging mock car chases with members of the Kuwaiti law enforcement delegation

"I am particularly impressed with the high speed stability of the vehicle through bends and turns, and its ability to smoothly brake hard at high speed without any discomfort," he said. "Another important feature is the handsfree Bluetooth capability that allows law enforcement personnel to communicate safely." "I'm very happy that the Interior Ministry and the traffic administration will own these vehicles for their police patrols to maintain the security of the homeland, citizens, and all who live in Kuwait". The Dodge Charger Pursuit is proving a major hit with security forces around the world, in addition to the considerable success that it is enjoying across the GCC and strong penetration of the US police segment
