(MENAFN Press) The region's ability to host international association meetings will come under the spotlight at the upcoming Gulf Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings (GIBTM) Exhibition in Abu Dhabi (24-26 March) at a panel discussion entitled 'Association 101: International Association Meetings in the Middle East'.



Hosted by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), and moderated by Mr Steen Jakobsen, ICCA's 3rd Vice President and Director of the Dubai Convention and Events Bureau (DCEB), on March 25, the panel will delve into the opportunities and challenges of organising international association meetings in the Middle East and highlight what makes the region unique



With years of regional and international experience in the business events sector, an expert panel will share insights and tips for organizing international meetings as they also discuss destinations within the region and what they are doing to attract international association business. Included in the panel are:



Mr. Medhat Nassar, ICCA Middle East Chapter Chairperson and Managing Director at Meeting Minds;

Mr. Mahir Julfar, ICCA Board Member and Commercial Director at Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre (DICEC) “ Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC);

Mr. Khalifa Al Qubaisi, ICCA Middle East Chapter Deputy Chairperson and Head of Sales for Congresses at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Company (ADNEC); and

Mr. Ken Jamieson, Commercial Director at AMLAK Venue Management, Qatar National Convention Centre (an affiliate of Qatar Foundation).
