(MENAFN) The urbanization rate in China is expected to increase by 67 percent as population living in cities will hit USD940 million by 2030, Xinhua reported
UK-based Economist Intelligence Unit expects that China's urbanization rate will increase to 61 percent by 2020 before reaching 67 percent in 2030
It added that the population in cities will increase to around 940 million, while the population in the country to decrease to 450 million
Economist Intelligence Unit"s report said: "China's march towards becoming an urbanized society to continue in the coming decades. This trend will continue in the next 20 years, when China will remain the main force driving global urbanization.
