(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) A source at the Russian Fleet has revealed that changes will affect the strategic upgrading of the Black Sea Fleet and will take the new geophysical circumstances into consideration. In a statement carried by Russian Interfax news agency the source said the shape of the fleet will change during the coming next years, attributing such change to the removal of known political factors that hampered its upgrading, in addition to the intensive building of modern vessels and submarines. Russia plans to upgrade its Black Sea Fleet with 18 new vessels over the next decade after a deal with Ukraine to extend the lease on the fleet's base, a navy source was quoted by Interfax as saying.(
