Two people injured in tent collapse in Ajman


(MENAFN-Khaleej Times) two people sustained injuries after a huge tent at al shaab market near the ajman city centre collapsed due to heavy rains on friday

The victims — an arab man and a woman — are currently recuperating at al khalifa hospital in ajman.


Brigadier shaikh sultan al nuaimi, deputy director of the ajman police, said the police evacuated the place and cordoned off the area to ensure safety.


Colonel ali saeed al matrooshi, director-general of police operations, said they were informed about the collapse at 10.21pm. civil defence, ambulance and sniffer dogs were pushed into the rescue operations.


Al matrooshi said the police are prepared for eventualities resulting from changes in weather. police patrols have been deployed in all streets of the emirate to manage traffic and prevent congestions due to the rain. the patrols also diverted traffic from water-clogged areas.
