(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman started its 2014 Asian Games qualifying hockey tournament on a successful note after it beat Chinese- Taipei 1-0 in its opening Pool A game in Dhaka, Bangladesh on Saturday.
Qasim al Shibli scored the lone goal. Oman will next take on Sri Lanka on Monday and Qatar on Wednesday in the eightnation meet.
Bangladesh, Singapore, Hong Kong and Iran are the teams from Pool B.
The top six will participate in the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea from September 19-October 4.
