India's retail inflation drops 8.1 percent in February


(MENAFN) India's Consumer Price Index-based inflation fell by 8.1 percent in February compared to 8.79 percent in January, its lowest in 25 months, according to Qatar News Agency



Indian government data showed inflation rates for rural at 8.51 percent, and for urban areas at 7.55 percent.



The country's overall inflation in the food basket dropped to 8.57 percent last month compared to 9.9 percent in January.



The rate at which vegetable prices boosted to 14.04 percent during the month compared to 21.91 percent in January
