The Australian dropped to fourth in the final standings after failing to pick up any points in Spain, while Saturday's winner Paul Berg climbed to second, 926 points behind Visintin
The German came home in the big final ahead of Russia's Nikolay Olyunin, while home favourite Regino Hernandez came in third
Canada's Christopher Robanske finished fourth to claim 500 points and take third spot overall, 130 points ahead of Hughes
Visintin became the second Italian to win a snowboard cross World Cup title, after Elmar Messner in 1997, while Olympic champion Pierre Vaultier completed a disappointing World Cup season by finishing 25th on Saturday and 55th overal
