(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The Qatar Athletics Federation (QAF) honored the two champions Mutaz Essa Barshim and Femi Ogunode who won two medals (gold and bronze) at the 2014 IAAF World Indoor Championships, concluded recently in Polish city of Sopot.
Barshim, who won world outdoor silver in Moscow last year and Olympic bronze in London, jumped a best of 2.38 meters to secure the gold medal. Russian Ivan Ukhov took silver on countback, with Ukraine's Andriy Protsenko claiming bronze with a best of 2.36m
Femi Ogunode occupied the third place of 60m event with a time of 6.52 seconds behind Richard Kilty of Britain (6.49) in the first place and rising US star Marvin Bracy (6.51 ) who finished second.
