Kuwait- Verdict revoked

(MENAFN- Arab Times) The Court of Appeals revoked the verdict issued by a lower court, which sentenced a military officer to ten-year imprisonment and a fine of KD 500 for kidnapping and robbing a man. The court instead acquitted him of all charges. According to the case files, the officer stopped the victim in front of his office in Abu Halifa and forced the latter to enter his vehicle after showing his ID card to prove he is a law enforcement agent.

The suspect took the victim to a deserted area in Wafra where he physically attacked him and robbed him of KD 30 and his mobile phone, after which he fled

Defense Lawyer Mohammad Adwaihi disputed the allegations against his client, affirming that he did not intend to abduct the victim or steal his belongings
