Qatar Hockey Team Heads to Dhaka for Asian Games Qualifiers


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Qatar's 14-member men's hockey team, led by Sohail Mustafa, travels later tonight to Dhaka to participate in the Asian Games qualifiers, Qatar Hockey Federation (QHF) Secretary General Mohamed Abdul Nazer said Wednesday. Bangladesh capital Dhaka is hosting the qualifying matches from March 14 to 24. Six team will qualify for the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea in September 2014. The team is trained by Chief Coach Maggid Abu Talib and assisted by Khalid Modi. Nidal Kribi is the team manager. The others members of the team are Hamad Al Sahoty, Yousef Al Sulait, Khalifa Sahotty, Mubarak Al Sulaiti, Shezad Ali, Tariq Nasir, Shahid Mustaffa, Adnan Mustafa, Sheraz Ali, Savio Naik, Tarik Abdu Rab, Anwar Ali, Samiullah. Qatar will also be fielding technical officials Ajit Menon and Amr Halim for the first time in a hockey tournament outside the country. QHF President Hassan Al Qadi is leading the Qatari delegation also comprising Mohamed Abdul Nazer and Developmetn Director Mohamed Al Enazi. Qatar's opening match is against Sri Lanka on March 15, Chinese Taipei on 17 and Oman on 19
