Guest nights spent unchanged despite record visitors to New Zealand


(MENAFN) New Zealand government"s statistics agency said that the accommodation sector benefitted little from a record number of visitors to the country, Xinhua reported



Statistics New Zealand's Accommodation Survey said that the number of nights spent by overseas visitors in January was unchanged from the month before it



The sector saw an increase of 0.1 percent in January from the month before it, while domestic guest nights spent increased 0.6 percent



Spending by overseas visitors increased 5 percent in 2013 to USD5.64 billion, but visitors spent 1 percent on average
