Kuwait's Habib grabs bronze in Skeet


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Kuwaiti sharpshooter Saud Abdul-rahman Habib won the bronze medal in the Skeet competition of HH the Amir's Third International Shooting Grand Prix on Monday while Egyptian sharpshooter Azmi Mohammad won the gold and Ramla Fabio of Switzerland won silver. Kuwait has consolidated its lead in the championship with a gold and silver medal each, in addition to two bronze medals.



In the Seventh Asian Rifle Championship, India came first while China took the second and third positions. India and China are in stiff competition, as both countries won two gold medals each two days ago, but China has eventually managed to move up the ladder by winning five gold medals while India won three gold medals



Chinese sharpshooter Chan Sung broke his own record with a score of 206 points in the 10-meter rifle competition, while his compatriots Kuing Kung and Leo Zigio won silver and bronze medals with scores of 204.5 points and 183.7 points respectively. In the men teams' category, China scored 1,869.1 points to win gold medal, followed by Iran with 1,860.9 points and India with 1,856.1 points.



In the women's single 10-meter rifle competition, Sedhou Hyna from India broke the world record and won gold medal by scoring 200.3 points, followed by Wo Tchiya Yeng from Thailand with 198.3 points and Wadha Al-Bloushi from Oman with 177.3 points. In the women teams' category, China won gold medal with 1,138 points, followed by India with 1,137.5 points, while Taiwan won bronze by scoring 1,134 points
