(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Craft businesses from Oman will exhibit their products at the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) exhibition to be held at the Dubai Mall in the UAE from March 13-15.
Regarded by industry experts as one of the most important regional trade events for Oman's craft sector, the exhibition has been organised by the Public Authority for Investment Promotion & Export Development (Ithraa) in partnership with the Public Authority for SME Development.
As many as 22 companies are expected to take part in the event, aimed at expanding into the UAE market and increase the export potential of jewellery, silverware, cosmetics and fragrances. ''There has been a significant growth in Oman's gift and craft sector over the past few years and this increase reflects the depth and creativity of the sector,'' said Nasima al Balushi, Ithraa's Director-General of Export Development.
Balushi said, ''Oman has top class craft businesses and many of these will be exhibiting at the Dubai Mall event. The participating firms will have an invaluable opportunity to exhibit their products in one of the most important consumer markets in the Gulf.''
''We believe there are significant opportunities for Omani craft businesses to break into new markets both at home and abroad, securing valuable orders and creating new jobs locally. Ithraa is committed to Oman's craft sector, providing business support such as networking initiatives, business advice and export initiatives,'' she added.
