Saudi retail stores lose USD160 m on hiring women


(MENAFN) Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) said that Saudi Arabia's employment of women in retail stores has cost businesses over USD160 million in lost sales, according to Arabian Business



New rules for hiring Saudi women have affected 25 percent of small and medium-sized shops as some had shut down, while others were considering closing their doors



Saudi female employees are expected to be paid double the salary of an expat to fill business roles



The government has recently eased some restrictions on the employment of women in Saudi retail outlets
