CUO of the GCC Concludes 6th Meeting


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The Customs Union Organization (CUO) of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) concluded on Monday its 6th meeting which ran for two days at the GCC headquarters here .



During the meeting , the participants discussed the report of the GCC General Secretariat on the completion of the requirements of the Customs Union and the latest developments on the mechanism of distributing customs proceeds to the GCC member state



They also discussed the working paper submitted by the UAE on the electronic system proposed for updating the final target mechanism and the outcomes of the 3rd meeting of the adhoc team assigned to consider custom protection in addition to the latest updates concerning the protection of the local agent and results of the special study for treating the products of the plants set up in the economic complexes in the GCC member states by Gulf investment



The recommendations and outcomes of the CUO meeting would be referred to the financial and economic cooperation committee at its next meeting for approval and ratificatio



A Qatari delegation led by Ahmed Bin Ali Al Muhannadi , the director general of the General Custom Department took part in the meeting
