Will the annual event break last years record?

(MENAFN -Arab News) The annual book event has started already. The number of visitors is huge, no doubt! But will it break last year's record of 2.5 million visitors

I believe yes, as long as no untoward incident takes place there. Saudis are in serious need to practice the calls of civility, and they are determined not to let go of any chance. We are change lovers, and every intellectual gathering or entertainment event in the region is dependent upon our attendance. We are the makers of difference in terms of value and number

The event is getting bigger, to the extent that they had to build a large tent annexed to the huge exhibit room. But is this entire crowd really interested in reading? Well, this year, my visits have been almost on a daily basis, as I am attending the publisher booth where my new book is, and while trying to help young Saudi artists to run the visual arts stand. My guess is that at least 60 percent of the visitors are there to buy books, thirty percent to eat corn and drink coke and 10 percent are there just for fun.
