(MENAFN -Arab News) Jayme Lugue was surprised to be in the final as a replacement for the last spot but the beginning bowler got an even bigger surprise when he won the men?s title in the OFBC Monthly Tournament for February at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.

Lugue got a second chance when Jhune Ejanda had to forfeit his place among the 10 qualifiers due to a conflict in his work schedule.

Enjoying a 40 handicap per game, Lugue shot a two-game series of 392 in the final to become the February Bowler of the Month while leading the second group of winners in the series leading up to the Bowler of the Year Championship 2014 in December.

He won by two pins from Cesar Pagtalunan, a Class C bowler, who settled for first runner-up on 390. Benj Espinosa was the second runner-up on 388 and Nap Patayan third runner-up on 386

Shirley Sagmit joined Lugue as the Bowler of the Month from the distaff side, carding the winning total of 391.
