(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) HE Director General of Public Security Staff Major General Saad Bin Jassim Al Khulaifi inaugurated on Sunday the events and activities of 30th GCC Traffic Week in the presence of GCC delegations, a number of senior officials from the Ministry of Interior and representatives of various government bodies.
The opening ceremony included art shows on the traffic accident risks and their effects on the family, the community and the nation in genera
Following the ceremony, HE Al Khulaifi along with GCC delegations opened an exhibition organized by several Interior Ministry's departments, government bodies, companies and civil society organization
He lauded the level of participation in the exhibition and its role in raising awareness about traffic safety, stressing that the Traffic Week's turnout reflected the level of awareness and the importance of cooperation and partnership to enhance road security and safet
He added that awareness programs play a key role in the reduction of accident rates, expressing his satisfaction over the progress of such program
Thanks to these awareness programs the traffic accidents were in decline in relation to population growth, he added. HE Al Khulaifi welcomed the GCC and Jordanian delegations' participation in the Gulf Traffic Week activities in its thirty editio
