Saudi FM Calls For Syrian Opposition Taking Over Syria Seat atArab League


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al Faisal on Sunday urged the Arab League to allow the opposition National Syrian Coalition to take over the seat of Syria at the League in implementation of a resolution taken by the League at a previous meeting in Doha.



Addressing a League ministerial meeting in Cairo, Al Faisal said such a step would be a clear message to the international community that it should change its behavior in dealing with the Syrian crisi



He accused the Syrian regime of buying time at the Geneva 1 and 2 peace conferences and of adopting a position that mislead the negotiation



In reference to the Palestinian-Israeli peace negotiations, he said he feared that the new round, sponsored by the US, will find the same fate of previous similar efforts despite the positive response of the Palestinian side to the peace endeavors spearheaded by the US Secretary of State John Kerry
