Nabil El Araby said Sunday that relations between Arab countries need a strong stand in order to overcome the obstacles to joint Arab Action , such as terrorism.

El Araby further said that Israel was now demanding Palestine to recognize the former as a Jewish state. He called on Arab countries to work together to reject such a notion, due to its implication
Arab countries fear that accepting such a description for Israel would lead to the displacement of Palestinians living in Israe
On the Syrian crisis, the Secretary-General said that there was a real threat to finding a political resolution to the crisis after negotiations between the Syrian regime and the opposition failed miserably in Genev
He warned that elongating the crisis could lead Syria to becoming a failed stat
He criticized the UN Security Council's inability to establish a ceasefire in Syria, even though the struggle has been taking place over the last three year
He added that such a failure should encourage a stronger Arab position in the face of what El Araby described as the most tragic struggle in the 21st century.
