Passenger Traffic Up 15.5% in January at Jordan's Largest Airport


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Passenger traffic jumped 15.5% in January at the Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA), the main hub of Royal Jordanian Airlines, according to a Petra news agency report.



Airport International Group (AIG), the Jordanian company responsible for the rehabilitation, expansion and operation of QAIA, Jordan's largest airport, announcing the data said, passenger traffic was 2.6% in the same month in 201



QAIA started 2014 with positive results, registering 548,559 passenger



Aircraft movements (ACM) rose from 3% last year to 7.7% this January, recording 5,673 AC



AIG CEO Kjeld Binger said, "Increase in Umrah passengers to Saudi Arabia grew our January 2014 figure



To accommodate this steady growth, AIG commenced the second phase of the QAIA expansion projec



This will further increase annual passenger capacity to reach up to 12 million upon its completion in 2016.
