Tour of Oman organisers eye live telecast in 2015

Salim al Hasani, a member of the organising committee for the race, told Muscat Daily, ''We are trying to have the Tour of Oman telecast live next year.

Hasani said the 2014 edition received wide coverage in French, Belgian and Swiss newspapers. ''According to the summary submitted to us by the organisers, the 2014 edition was covered in 362 newspapers - most of them are French. This shows the large following the Tour of Oman has gained over the years,'' he said.

Hasani added, ''So far, we have had highlights of the Tour of Oman shown on television everyday. But now, we are keen to have live telecast of the event. We hope it could be done next year. One of the key areas to develop the Tour of Oman is to have live telecast and we are keen to start it. There are a lot of details to be discussed, so we are starting the process this month.''
