Muriya showcases Oman's ITCs in Berlin

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muriya exhibited at this year's International Tourism Bourse (ITB), which took place in Berlin recently, showcasing Jebel Sifah and Salalah Beach, the two largest Integrated Tourism Complexes (ITCs) in Oman.

Muriya was the first and only private company from Oman to participate and occupied a 23 sq m exhibition space opposite Oman Air and the Ministry of Tourism to promote the Sultanate. Hamza Selim, CEO, Muriya said, ''Muriya is Oman's largest developer of tourism assets and ITB Berlin provided us with an opportunity to showcase our flagship resorts and promote the destinations to business travellers and international tour operators, as well as offering a unique insight into the global tourism industry from the world's leading think tank. Our participation in an event of this scale solidifies Muriya's position as one of the major developers in Oman and in the world, and will help further increase the influence of tourism on the national economy.''

Selim added, ''The Ministry of Tourism recently announced that Oman's tourism industry grew by ten per cent in 2013, with 2.1mn tourists visiting the sultanate. Visitors from within Oman and the wider GCC region grew by almost 33 per cent last year, while European visitors to Oman grew by 16.7 per cent. ITB Berlin is vital in promoting the country to overseas tourists. The new Rotana Salalah Resort will form one of the major attractions at our landmark Salalah Beach Complex and is due to become fully operational before the start of the Khareef season when visitors from across the region flock to Salalah to enjoy Gulf's only tropical destination.''

Jebel Sifah is set in a private enclave, a 45 minute drive through the Al Hajar Mountains from Muscat with the Sifawy Boutique Hotel serving guests in the heart of the onsite Marina. At the centre of the development is a Marina Town built around Oman's first inland marina.

Once complete, the destination will feature an 18-hole PGA standard Golf Course and a selection of luxury resorts operated by the world's leading hotel companies, Four Seasons, Missoni, Banyan Tree and Angsana. Salalah Beach Resort faces the Indian Ocean and will offer guests a unique experience.

The Juweira Boutique Hotel is open with Rotana Salalah Resort opening shortly.

The completed destination will offer resorts operated by Club Med and M?venpick to complement a selection of restaurants and cafés as well as two PGA golf courses
