(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman Air has announced the appointment of Katera Tourism Investment Group as the general sales agent (GSA) for Turkey.
The appointment, which sees the company take responsibility for offline sales in the Turkish market, is effective immediately and follows the signing last year of a code share agreement with Turkish Airlines.
Abdulrazaq Alraisi, chief commercial officer for Oman Air, commented: ''We are delighted to announce the appointment of Katera Tourism Investment Group as general sales agents for Turkey. Katera has a proven track record in the travel trade and we look forward to seeing sales take off in the large and competitive Turkish market.''
Katera Tourism Investment Group was established in 1997 and includes the TravelClub, Gurme Tourism and Katera Fleet brands, a press release said Sunday. Its range of services includes general sales agency, working with all types of domestic and international travel organisations, supporting MICE and DMC activities, and event management.
According to a press release, the group also offers visa services, arranges private jet hire, organises individual travel packages and hotel bookings, arranges transfer, transportation and car hire services and offers guide and translation services.
Katera shares Oman Air's commitment to social and cultural responsibility, especially in the area of education.
Katera Tourism Investments Group's appointment in Turkey follows the recent appointment of Summerwind in December 2013 in Spain and Portugal which is intended to pave the way for Oman Air's continuous expansion. Abdulrazaq added, ''We believe that Oman Air & Katera Tourism's business relation will assist in excelling the commercial goal and yet will exploit future opportunities in the Turkish market.''
