(MENAFN-Khaleej Times) This importance requires media professionals to approach the main source of information and handle it with accuracy and credibility

Shaikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qassimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Media Centre (SMC), has emphasised the important role of the media in delivering accurate information to all members of society.

This importance, according to Al Qassimi, requires media professionals to approach the main source of information and handle it with accuracy and credibility.

He was responding to an article on ‘Air pollution in Sharjah’ that appeared in the local press last week. Shaikh Sultan thanked all media institutions in the UAE expressing his appreciation for their efforts to serve the society and reflect the right image that helps crystallise the country’s developmental purposes.

He also extended his thanks to the UAE’s National Media Council (NMC) for its constant endeavour to activate the relationship between media institutions and both the public and private sectors, stressing the importance of the NMC’s role in promoting the performance of the media in the country.
