(MENAFN - The Peninsula) Muntajat BV, the international marketing arm of Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Company (Muntajat) has recently announced the opening of five international marketing offices.

The new offices will be in Amman in Jordan, Melbourne in Australia, Cape Town in South Africa, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, and Istanbul in Turkey. The offices will provide local and customised services to Muntajat's customer base while developing new business for Qatar's downstream products

Muntajat, launched in 2012, holds exclusive rights to market, sell and distribute chemicals, polymers and fertilisers produced in Qatar to the global market. Launching the next stage of its commercial activities, Muntajat is building its global marketing network through Muntajat BV, a corporation established in the Netherlands.

H E Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, the Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman of Muntajat Board of Directors said, "The opening of Muntajat BV's first wave of global offices represents a great achievement not only for Muntajat but also for the State of Qatar. With the planned increase in Qatar's output of chemical and petrochemical products to reach 23 million tonnes by 2020, the new offices will play an important role in bringing our products to the world."

Dr Al Sada described the expanding global reach of Muntajat as a catalyst in positioning Qatar as a major player in the international downstream industry

Muntajat BV provides marketing services to Muntajat through a network of Local Marketing Offices (LMO's). These offices are being established in strategic markets around the world to serve both local customers and customers in nearby countries and expand Muntajat's global reach

Muntajat BV is planning to open up to 36 LMOs in stages, with these five offices being among the first wave

Abdulrahman Ali Al Abdulla, Chief Executive Officer of Muntajat described the opening of the global offices as an important milestone for the company.

He said: "This achievement marks an important stepping stone for Muntajat towards establishing its global marketing network."

"We look forward to announcing further openings in the coming year as we bring our products and services closer to the customers we serve," said Yousef Jeham Al Kuwari, Chairman of Muntajat BV and Executive Director, Marketing and Sales for Muntajat

The Amman office will serve Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine, and Syria and the Melbourne office will serve Australia and New Zealand. The Kuala Lumpur office will serve the markets of Malaysia, Singapore, and Myanmar while the Cape Town office will service the South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe markets. Customers in Turkey, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Romania, and Moldova will be served by the Istanbul office.
