Gaultier had suffered a hat-trick of losses in the final starting in 2002, but 2014 proved to be his year at the PSA World Tour event at the University Club of Chicago
He needed just 25 minutes to get past third seed Ashour in the final after both had claimed four-game semi-final victories on Sunday
It was Gaultier's second final of the year after he was beaten by Amr Shabana in the Tournament of Champions decider in January.
