Russian Parliament Calls for Withdrawn Ambassador fromWashington


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The upper house of the Russian parliament asked Monday President Vladimir Putin to consider withdrawing Russian ambassador from Washington.



Chair of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko said that the threats made by US President Barack Obama against Russia following the latter's invasion of the Crimea region in Ukraine showed "disrespect for our people and for Russia." Obama warned Putin in the weekend that invading the Crimea area, a region in Ukraine bordering Russia, would have grave repercussion



Russian troops did end up entering the region however and the BBC reported today that Crimea were under de facto rul



The US and the West have been against the military movements made by Russia ever since Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich was overthrow



Yesterday, Russian news agency Itar-tass reported that Canada recalled its ambassador in Russia for consultatio



Canada's move was an objection to what they said was Russia's clear violation of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Additionally, Canada froze its participation in the G8 meeting in Soch
