Dubai's Aramex demands changes in custom rules


(MENAFN) Hussein Hachem, the chief executive of Dubai logistics company Aramex, said that custom rules of trade between Gulf Arab states should be adapted to cover the needs of the region's e-commerce industry, according to Arabian Business



Hachem commented that the current custom rules allow only small shipments if transported by air, which is expensive



Hachem added: "The GCC customs union law does not address e-commerce. What we are calling for is an update.



Online purchases in the GCC countries, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar,Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, were estimated at USD15 billion annually
