S. Sudan oil production dropped 30 percent

(MENAFN) Oil production in South Sudan fell by 30 percent since mid-December as a result of fighting between government forces and rebels, Xinhua reported



Oil production dropped from an average of 245,000 barrels per day (bpd) to an average of 175,000 bpd



Rebels have been targeting oil-producing states as Unity, with a production capacity of 45,000 bpd, and Upper Nile which has an output of 200,000 bpd



The fighting in South Sudan has caused the death of thousands of people and displacement of over 67,000 Southern Sudanese
