(MENAFN - Kora) Perry scored twice and grabbed an assist in the Ducks' third win in a row as they scored the opening five goals in California before the visiting Hurricanes stormed back late on

With the top team in the Eastern Conference's Metropolitan Division - the Pittsburgh Penguins - out of action on Sunday, it was a great day for the leading teams of the NHL as Anaheim, the St Louis Blues and the Boston Bruins all won

In Anaheim, Perry scored twice in the opening period and helped set up a third goal to Francois Beauchemin as the Ducks took control against Carolina

Goals to Andrew Cogliano and Jakob Silfverberg before the midway point of the second period saw the hosts lead 5-0 prior to Andrej Sekera striking back for the Hurricanes

The visitors continued their attempted comeback in the final stanza with Patrick Dwyer and Alexander Semin getting on the scoresheet but Carolina failed to fully bridge the gap

The Ducks (91 points) remain well clear at the top of the Western Conference's Pacific Division with the San Jose Sharks (84) in second after a 4-2 win at the New Jersey Devils

In New York, the Bruins prevailed in a goal-fest against the Rangers, scoring three times in the last period to win 6-3

Gregory Campbell struck twice in the third period for the visitors, while Boston's goaltender Tuukka Rask made 39 saves as the Bruins moved to 81 points at the top of the East's Atlantic Division

St Louis had to come from behind for their win on Sunday, scoring all their goals in the third period to beat the Phoenix Coyotes 4-2 in Arizona

Patrik Berglund notched a brace for the Blues, who lead the West's Central Division with 86 points, just ahead of the Chicago Blackhawks on points difference

The Ottawa Senators won an all-Canadian clash 4-2 over the Vancouver Canucks, while the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Washington Capitals 5-4 in overtime, the Florida Panthers overcame the New York Islanders 5-3 and the Colorado Avalanche won 6-3 against the Tampa Bay Lightning
