South Korea's Opposition Bloc to Launch New Party


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Two opposition leaders in South Korea have announced their plan to launch a new party.



Democratic Party Chairman Kim Han-gil and independent lawmaker Ahn Cheol-soo said at a joint news conference at the National Assembly on Sunday they will jointly form a new party ahead of the June local elections, according to Korea's (KBS WORLD) website.



A preparation committee, which will handle the launch of the new party, will comprise of the same number of members from the Democratic Party and Ahn's "committee for new politics." DP said there have been calls from inside and outside the party on the opposition bloc to join force



Ahn's committee said it was convinced by the DP's strong commitment to political refor



The two leaders criticized the government and the ruling party for not apologizing for their lies during the presidential eletion and for again decieving the public ahead of local elections.





They said the new party will seek a transfer of power in the 2017 presidential electio
