Al-Maliki Confirms the Need to Restore Security in Anbar Province

(MENAFN - Qatar News Agency) Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki confirmed on Wednesdaythe need to work to restore security in Anbar province, and to reorganize the police force in the city in preparation for the return of the families that had left their homes because of the military operations. A statement by the Prime Minister's Office carried by National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) said that al-Maliki presided over in his official office this evening, the first meeting of the Higher Committee for the reconstruction of Anbar province in the presence of the ministers of defense, Municipalities and Public Works, the Displacement and Migration, reconstruction and housing in addition to the governor and the chairman of al-Anbar Provincial Council and the commander of the ground forces. It stressed the need to work to restore security in the province and the reorganization of the police force in the city in preparation for the return of the families that left their homes because of military operations, adding that strengthening the security situation after the expulsion of the terrorist groups from the city of Ramadi would help the return of the people, and begin the process of compensation and rehabilitation of the city and provide services again. Al-Maliki said that the committee has taken upon itself to work in coordination with the local government to restore everything that was destroyed during the last period for the purpose of promoting the services and meet all the necessary requirements and rehabilitation of government institution
