Underground World at Lusail Expressway


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The Public Works Authority "Ashgal" has revealed the completion of about 16 percent of the Lusail Expressway project which began in late 2012.



The project will provide a lot of vital services when completed by late 201



The Lusail Expressway project includes the reconstruction and development of the current Lusail Expressway south of the Arch roundabout to the northern canal corrido



It consists of a 5.3 km highway of four lanes, in addition to extra lanes to facilitate traffic between intersection



The project includes three major interchanges which are: Al Wahda Interchange: the popularly known as the Arch roundabout, will become a three level interchang



Onaiza Interchange: will be a complete free flow interchange built below and above the ground on three level



The Pearl Interchange: will become a three level interchange to provide a visually appealing access to the Peal Qata



This project will serve the important growing urban areas, as Dafna and Al Gassar, and those that contain touristic attractions as Katara and Pearl through the development of intersections, as well as the flow of movement for residents, business owners and visitor



The intersections will be developed through the removal of roundabouts, and replacing them with multilevel intersection that provides smooth traffic at all directions; in addition to the cosmetic work and landscaping along the Lusail Expressway.
