Hong Kong economy expands 2.9 percent


(MENAFN) Hong Kong's Financial Secretary said that the city's Economy expanded by 2.9 percent last year, Xinhua reported



The secretary said that the growth in the year is a "marked improvement" from 2012 when growth hi 1.5 percent



He said: "China's robust economy is the driving force of economic growth in the region and underpins the Hong Kong economy.



The Chinese mainland significantly influenced the city's growth as over half of it exports went to the mainland and tourists from the mainland accounted for 75 percent of total arrivals
