(MENAFN -Arab News) RIYADH: Pakistan International School Riyadh ? English Section will clash with Royal Academy of Cricket Combined XI in the under-16 Inter-School cricket tournament final held under the auspices of the Saudi Cricket Center and organized by the Riyadh Cricket League, here.
In the semifinals, RAC Combined XI got the better of International Indian School Riyadh ?A? by 4 wickets while in the other match PISR-ES struggled to get past their counterparts PISR, Nasriyah by 3 wickets.
In the first semis, RAC put in IISR ?A? to bat, which scored 162 runs in their stipulated overs.
Sohail (37) and Nabeel (42) provided a good start of 57 runs for the first wicket. In the middle order Aakifen propped up the middle order with a valuable 28 runs. Hyder claimed 4 wickets and was supported by Wajid?s 3.
In reply RAC achieved the target off 19.3 overs. Nawaz gave his team a good start and scored 32 runs, followed by Jamshed (16), Atif (13) and Waleed (17). However, it was captain Zawair who steered his team to victory with a match winning innings of 39 runs for the bowling side.
Mukul, Irfan, Ibrahim and Ahsan took a wicket each.
In the second semis PISR-N made first use of the wickets and put up 136 runs. Waleed (34) and Mubashar (22) were the only batsmen who were able to tackle the rival bowlers. Athar was the highest wicket-taker wit 4 while Faizan and Anas took 2 each.
In reply PISR-ES reached their target after 19.3 overs to book their place in the final. Hamza Malik played a magnificent innings of 57 runs. Zain supported him with his valuable 20 runs. Sulaiman and Haseeb took 2 wickets each.
