(MENAFN - Qatar News Agency) The Arab League Secretary General Dr. Nabil Al-Arabi welcomed the issuance of UN Security Council (UNSC) Resolution number 2139 on the humanitarian situation in Syria.

In a statement issued here Sunday, Al-Arabi expressed hope that the consensus that has been achieved in the Security Council on the draft of this resolution might indicate the beginning of the involvement of the UNSC's permanent members states in joint efforts to establish the politicalsolution to the Syrian crisis, according to the statement of the Geneva Conference issued June 30, 201
