Habsi set for Oman return against S'pore

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman's No 1 goalkeeper Ali al Habsi is to make a return to the national side after almost a year out due to a shoulder injury and commitments to his English Championship side Wigan Athletic.

Oman coach Paul Le Guen picked Habsi in the squad for the final Group A qualifier for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup against Singapore at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on March 5.

Le Guen selected 22 players that also includes striker Imad al Hosni and defender Mohammed Sheeba, both of them making a return from injury.

However, the team will miss experienced Hassan Mudhaffar due to injury.

Habsi last played for the Oman team on March 26 last year. Oman drew that game 2-2 against hosts Australia in Sydney in the second-leg match of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
