China's rare earth industry sees drop in 2013


(MENAFN) Rare earth industry in China dropped in profits in 2013 despite the strong growth in revenue, according to Qatar News Agency



Industry revenue was estimated at about USD12.6 billion in 2013, or 7.9 percent higher. However, profits fell 28.1 percent to reach USD1.256 billion



A silver lining is one of the main sectors that the country relies and that market order keeps improving



China is the world's largest rare earth producer and exporter, but the industry is beset by some problems, such as illegal mining
